Aferdita Rakipi was born and raised in Michigan and has over 20 years experience in public relations, media and branding both in the national and international arenas. She has worked and lived in a variety of cities from her Nation’s Capital of Washington, D.C to living throughout Europe and most recently working in New York’s Fashion District. She began her career in Washington, D.C. where she met with the President and First Lady of the United States, Members of Congress and other world leaders raising awareness on Albanian issues. Aferdita was a member of the logistical team and attended international peace talks in Rambouillet, France. After her tenure in Washington, D.C., she then lived in post-war Kosovo where she was the Executive Director of the IPKO Institute and CISCO Academy of Technology and was pivotal in rebranding and restructuring the organization. Due to her work and contributions with the National Albanian American Council, Aferdita was an honoree at the National Museum of Kosovo in 2009 America for Kosovo Project and a 2006 honoree for the United States Presidential Service Award.
