From December 5, 2019, Mrs. Lendita Haxhitasim is accredited as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo to the Republic of Italy.
In 2009 she was selected in the close group of career diplomats of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, engaged in the establishment and consolidation of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Kosovo. Mrs. Haxhitasim has served at the RKS Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium, where she has covered key issues related to the EU institutions in Brussels. Then she was appointed to the role of UN Liaison Officer at the Kosovo Consulate General in New York. In the next mission, at the Kosovo Embassy in Washington D.C., she has cooperated mainly with the State Department and the US National Security Council. In 2018 Mrs. Haxhitasim returned to Pristina, where for a period she served in the MFA as Acting Director of the Department for Europe and the EU.
Prior to her diplomatic career, Ms. Haxhitasim has worked as an Advisor to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RKS, where through UNDP she has contributed to the development of the Security sector. Also, the experience with the Secretariat of the Delegation for relations with the countries of Southeast Europe in the European Parliament in Brussels has been very important, while after the war, since 1999, Mrs. Haxhitasim worked for KFOR. She completed her higher studies in Italy, where she graduated in Political Science and International Relations.
